At Wylde Willow Garden, we bring a personal touch to every garden room.
Experience the magic of a 30 year labour of love, where every bloom tells a story, and the beauty of the botanical world awaits.
The Splendour of Roses
We cultivate a vast collection of rose varieties, from species and ancient families including many rare, heritage and found roses.
Some of the roses were rescued from gold mining regions and cemeteries across New Zealand, which now thrive and bloom, as we carry on their botanical legacy.
Rhododendron Wonderland
As the seasons shift, our Rhododendrons takes centre stage from September to December, creating a breathtaking display of blooms in hues ranging from soft pastels pinks and purples to vibrant crimsons.
Native to New Zealand
Wylde Willow Garden was developed to embrace the natural heritage of New Zealand, which is proudly on display in our Native Garden. This tranquil area flourishes with indigenous flora, including ferns, native trees like lancewood, cabbage trees and a selection of prodocarp.
Out in the Orchard
Step into our orchard, a busy paddock bursting with beauty during daffodil season in September, ripe with a wide variety of apples, pears, feijoas and more during autumn and winter, and Aracauna chickens all year round. Many trees have been entwined with a Ken Nobbs climbing rose for both the beauty and conservation.
Spectacular Garden Rooms
For those seeking a thematic journey, Wylde Willow Garden offers three distinct rooms, each curated to evoke a unique ambiance. Lose yourself amidst the fragrant allure of our rose garden, in the colourful perennial splendour, or our spectacular yellow garden.
Rawling Park
Pause and reflect in our arboretum, where unusual and seldom seen specimen create the tree-lined path which leads to a tranquil pond, home to ducks, geese, and other wildlife, and perhaps a sheep or two!
